Gioacchino Rossini, music; Tristan Braun, director; Alexander Krampe, arrangement; Dorothea Nicolai, costume design and set

Once upon a time there was a man who fell in love with a woman. He wanted to marry her, but there was a problem – so did someone else. The man was clever, however, and got some advice from his (even cleverer) barber. Together they fashioned a plan, featuring a love letter, disguises and music lessons – the kind of ups and downs that happen every day, and which have served to make this one of the opera classics. It was written by Gioacchino Rossini in the grand total of 19 days, and will be enjoying a new arrangement and interpretation in Hünenberg, where is also where the story is set (well, in this new version, at least...)
