Two women drivers injured, one seriously,

Two women drivers were injured, one of them seriously, after they were involved in a collision near a petrol station on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The incident happened shortly before 2.30 pm as a 55-year-old woman driver left the petrol station to rejoin Zugerstrasse but failed to notice an approaching vehicle driven by a 71-year-old on her way from Cham towards Alpenblick.
 
In the ensuing collision the 55-year-old woman sustained serious injuries; the 71-year-old escaped with slight injuries; both were taken to hospital.

As can be seen in the photographs both cars were badly damaged, to the tune of  CHF 25,000 in fact.

For some time after the incident, traffic was able to pass by only by using the pavement and garage forecourt.
